Our faculty member Professor Wei Wei has been selected for the 2025–26 Emerging Research Leaders Academy (ERLA), hosted by the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute (IHSI). ERLA supports mid-career researchers in refining their goals, expanding collaborations, and preparing to lead large-scale, multi-investigator projects.
Nominees are chosen based on leadership potential, commitment to interdisciplinary research, and the anticipated impact of their participation. This year’s cohort was selected from a highly competitive pool of more than 40 nominees across campus.
Throughout the year-long program, participants will engage in workshops on the science of team science, building inclusive research teams, effective research communication, and strategic planning. They will also develop five-year action plans to guide their leadership trajectory, present their plans at ERLA’s April 2026 graduation, and join a growing network of ERLA alumni committed to advancing interdisciplinary research at Illinois.
