We’re excited to share that a team from Illinois earned 2nd place at the 11th Annual Munich Re Cup, one of North America’s premier actuarial science student case competitions!
The Illinois team—comprising actuarial science students Elena Ban, Annie Gu, and Teresa Ngocand Nguyen, all members of the AXIS Risk Management Academy—was advised by faculty member Peixin Liu and selected as one of the finalist teams to compete in the final round held in Toronto, March 25–26, 2025.
Six outstanding teams from across the U.S. and Canada came together to tackle this year’s longevity case challenge, presenting their innovative solutions to a panel of industry experts. The Illinois team delivered an exceptional presentation, earning second place and a $6,000 prize.
