Abstract: We’ll discuss Property/Casualty Actuarial work and opportunities in the field, my experiences at the companies where I have worked, and how to get off to a good start in your career.

About: I am a UIUC Actuarial Science graduate.  The UIUC Actuarial Science Club was instrumental in getting a summer internship with CNA Insurance in Chicago, a property and casualty insurance company. Since working at CNA I have continued to work on the P&C side of the insurance business at State Farm Insurance, Allstate Insurance, and currently Markel Corporation.  I have volunteered with the Casualty Actuarial Society serving on an exam committee, the University Liaison Program, and the Professional Education Working Group.
